Um, what it's looking at is not time of day. It doesn't care when you shower. What it's looking at is, hey, that showerhead flowed for 2.5 gallons a minute for 20 minutes. I'm gonna, you know, catalog that as an event and I'll know that that's normal. And then it builds one of those events for in one of those thumbprints, let's call it for each event that it sees, or each combination of events that it sees throughout that learning period.And then at the end of the 7 days, it, it concludes the smart, you know, learning mode. And then it, you know, looks for the, you know, every water event that happens, it compares it to that catalog that it's built. And it says, if I see any loss in pressure while we're doing this test, I know that water is going somewhere and you'll wake up to the results of that test. Now, if you get up in the middle of the night and, you know, use the sink, use the toilet, Uh, use a shower. It knows that that's material use. It's not looking for that. It's looking for small drips here. It'll just postpone the test and open the valve. I know you have a product that uses ultrasonic technology as well, um, that's one of your flagship products. Um, and the real benefit there is, um, there's no, nothing impeding flow and or pressure through the, through the pipes. So if you use the bottom two pictures here as an example, lower left, that's our flow tube. As you can see, you can see completely through it. There's nothing obstructing anything. On the right, uh, I, I'll say is one of the low cost providers in the space, uh, again, and they're using a turbine or impeller inside the line. The faster it spins, the more water's running. However, irrigation systems changed throughout the year. So if we learn what normal looks like now, in January, um, it's gonna look vastly different in April and in August, for example. So, Typically, sprinklers can be a, an uh cause of uh pain point for clients because they really, you know, they're like, I just wanna know if something's wrong in my house. I, I'll see the uh sprinkler issue in my water bill, for example. So, um, typically we would avoid that. Same thing with um water softeners and filtration. We can learn those, those regeneration and flush rates if needed, um, or we can set manual parameters and maybe avoid them. Um, but again, they're just a cause of a lot of nuisance loads because they don't typically run on the same exact Flow rate and duration each time they run. Now, if people are worried about those systems causing the problem, that's where we would advocate for hybrid solutions where you can put a sensor next to those systems, and that'll alert, they'll alert the client via the app and audibly if there's an issue, um, and then the, you know. Um, we do not install these devices in the ground, uh, some of your, you know, areas, you know, systems usually in the ground. Um, if needed, in that case, we recommend you bring that line up outside of the home, uh, just for as long as it takes to, you know, fit the device. Do installers normally install this device at the main shutoff valve? Uh, yes, yes and no. Uh, we, we typically put this after the main shutoff valve, obviously, because you need to use that to turn the water off to install the device. Um, and then we would typically also go after the PRV, um, because then when our pressure sensor can actually help, you know, make sure that we know that that PRV is actually doing its job. So typically, uh, mainline after the shutoff valve, after the PRV, and then after any, you know, irrigation lines or softening filtration systems. Um, after the installation, actually, the physical installation happens, um, you know, plug the device in, uh, basically, you just go back to the app and you follow the instructions. I'll show them to you in the next couple slides for calibrating the device. And then one thing we always tell installers is after you install it, look at the current readings. For example, if I'm installing this in a garage in Florida, I'm probably gonna Disable my high humidity and my high temperature alerts, because otherwise, the customer's just gonna be get, uh, constantly get, be reminded that their garage is both hot and humid in Florida. Um, so I'll talk to you about, I'll show you how you can tweak the settings, uh, so that, you know, you look at the current settings, you adjust them as needed, uh, and that way the customer is really only going to get the alerts that they need or care about. For example, if the, if you install this on the main line before any major branches, whether you turn that upstairs sink on, uh, or you run a downstairs laundry machine, it's gonna see that flow, cause it's all after the device. Um, so, you know, the, we, again, a hybrid solution, if you're saying, if somebody says, hey, I know this will tell me if it detects something abnormal, but I really don't even want to wait. More than 2 seconds, if my water heater drip pan gets wet, for example, um, somebody might choose to put a sensor in that water heater drip pan to say, hey, um, I want this to tell me right away. And then if you did that, I'll talk about our sensors later. Those sensors can also tell the control to shut off right away as well. Um, but typically, you wouldn't need multiple monitors. Now, we have had some of our larger homes that we work for our clients. So again, we, we see some of the largest in the country. Um, We have had clients that say, hey, I wanna put a device on my east wing and my west wing, uh, and sometimes it's some of those same clients that say, hey, I don't want to reduce my my into my into the device from my 2-inch line. Um, so, but right after we go in the house, it usually splits the, you know, more manageable size. So let's put one device on the east wing, one on the west wing, and then I'll have a better idea of where the issue is when it happens, and I also won't be inconveniencing myself on the other side of the home, uh, when I do have that problem. Um, basically, the first thing they're asked to do is uh create a location, um, and then once they do create a location, they pick what type of building it is, what country they're in. Um, currently we're approved for the US and Canada, um, what zip code they're in, just to help, uh, calibrate the device to where they are. And then once they do that, they're gonna set up their device. So they click let's get started. From the device type, they use the arrows to scroll from, you know, control to scout to monitor. They make sure it's on control, they hit the plus sign. Um, from that standpoint, it just says, hey, go ahead and plug your device in and let me know when you've done that. So once you plug it in, you click I've got power. From that standpoint, all the customer has to do is turn the device over and scan the barcode on the bottom. And from there, it'll try the first thing before we connect to the home's Wi Fi is we connect to the actual device itself. So, the first message they get is, hey, Streamlabs wants to join, you know, the Streamlabs network. You go ahead and hit join. Once you do, it says, hey, I've found your control. What network do you want to add to, and then you just go through and find your home network, put that password in, and then we connect to the device. So at this point, the client has created an account, they've um created a location, and they've, you know, go ahead and, and created that uh paired that device to that location. They'll just be asked to name the device. For example, many people just put, you know, basement control, for example. From there, you just say, OK, I've installed the control, I've powered it on. Uh, and after that, you just need to go ahead and calibrate the device. And the calibration process is literally a two-step process. Um, you, you turn all the water off and you let it see what no water flow looks like. Once you, once it does that, it says, go ahead and turn a faucet on. The devices will not alert people based on the out of the box settings that it, that it, you know, sees flow that are a little bit beyond those settings during the learning period, but it will not automatically shut their water off. Um, so after you install the device, if you want to see what those settings are, as you can see here, the slow leak is set to say, hey, let me know if I see any flow more than half a gallon for 20 minutes, and let me know if I see on the major league side, anything more than 2 gallons a minute for 5 minutes. If you this in a home and you say, hey, they're gonna exceed that every time they shower. You can go ahead and change these parameters during the, you know, learning period, and that way they just won't get that many alerts during the learning period. Again, it's then it's still gonna learn all the events that they teach it during the learning period, but these are going to be the default settings that it's going to just notify them of during that learning period. I want to use some for non-plumbing purposes, and they actually put one right next to that AC condensate pan as well. Um, are these sensors monitors needed on a very large house with a guest house. Because again, now we're not basing anything on Prescribed thresholds, we're basing it on what we learned during that during that seven-day window. Uh, and so, again, there's no thresholds needed. Now, again, a couple things to note here. One being uh arrow number 3. Um, automatically turn my water. After the learning period, that automatically engages and most customers want it to cause they don't want, they want the water to shut off until they can look into it, especially if they're not there. A lot of insurance companies that are requiring these devices also require that to be enabled. Um, but let's say you're having a unique use case today. I'm having my house power washed. Um, I've got 20 people coming to town. There's gonna be all sorts of water being used that it's not used to. I know it's gonna tell me that there's problems and I don't want it to shut off while it's happening. Uh, you can go in and you can temporarily disable the auto shut off feature by just toggling the switch to the left. Um, it'll still, we recommend still leaving the, the notifications on cause you'll get notified via your phone. A lot of clients living in houses, for example, might not be using the guest bathroom. Um, but inevitably somebody's gonna come visit, they're gonna shower in that shower, and that shower runs at a different flow rate than the primary showerhead. And if that's never seen that flow rate, and it's materially different than the main showerhead, it's gonna say, Hey, I don't recognize this, and it might turn the water off. So we always tell clients, Hey, during that learning period, Shower once in the guest showers. Uh, if you wanted to know what two showers simultaneously look like, go turn the other shower on while you're running yours, just so it gets a sense for the main combinations. You're never gonna get to be able to see every combination of water use in the house, but most of them will be taken care of naturally, cause you're gonna be running a sink in the dishwasher and the laundry in the shower and things like that. Um, but try to show it, things like that. Um, some people, again, if, if you might not use the actual tub feature of your shower until grandkids come to town and they're using the bath, fill it up. Once during the learning period just so it knows what that looks like. Um, so, let's say you have controls that you have to install before systems with irregular flow rates or in. Seasonal property that has, you know, limited use or maybe really wide ranging use, depending on which family members are using it. Or let's say you've just got a unique home or a customer that's a little older and you say, they are never gonna be able to show it everything that you and that they need to, uh, to avoid nuisance alerts after that learning period. Uh, in those situations, you might decide, hey, let's pivot to manual alerts. And to do that, it's the same function as smart alerts. You go to the home mode leak, you switch it to manual, you say continue to manual. And now here, you as the installer, are gonna prescribe both slow leak and major leak alert thresholds that you're comfortable with and the customer is comfortable with based on that house. So typically you're just running through your head and you're saying, OK, you've got 3 baths. So if 2 showers and a sink are running simultaneously, that might be 5 gallons at a time. How long am I comfortable for that running for, and I want to make sure I set those thresholds accordingly. So again, in this situation, we've got slow thresholds set at 0.1 gallons a minute for 20 minutes. That's probably gonna get tripped a lot. Basically, anytime that you see an event that uses any water for more than 20 minutes, they're gonna get an alert. What we oftentimes see is customers say, I'm gonna do 0.1 gallons, but I'm gonna do a longer duration here, let's say 30 minutes, 60 minutes. That way I know if any water runs for a very long period of time, but it's not gonna be a lot of water. Um, And then down here, you set your major league thresholds, which right now is set to 4 gallons a minute for 5 minutes. Again, if I run 2 showers, I'm probably gonna be over 4 gallons a minute. Uh, and then consider what is happening in the moment, right? If somebody's using water and they get a legal order or a shut off, then they know, OK, it must have seen something it didn't recognize or didn't like. And a lot of times they'll say, hey, I know why that happened. I'm OK with it. Um, if clients are calling and saying the device is shutting off when they're showering or during normal use, that's a pretty Usual common red flag to say they probably didn't do what they should have done during the learning period if they're in smart alerts. So we always say, hey, ask them what was happening, uh, review the alert details and try to help them realize why the system didn't recognize it. From a smart alert standpoint, um, it's basically saying the device is seeing a flow rate. Duration it didn't see during the learning period. Um, so again, might have to rerun the learning. It might have been a unique event. Doesn't show up anywhere and it's only less than around 1 pound is what you stated. Yeah, I can share the data with, with John and team. They can get it out to you, but we, we had independent studies done, um, you know, before we rolled out those larger fitting sizes last year. Um, and yeah, basically, there's an immaterial loss and pressure and flow, uh, and depending on How high you go, you might lose one, you might lose 2 PSI, um, but it's almost, you know, uh, what would be to the point somebody made in the chat, it would be unnoticeable to the client. Um, but yeah, it's, um, so again, some people still, even if you give them that data, they'll say, hey, I paid for a larger 2 inch, so I don't want to, I don't want to reduce down in those situations. Fine, maybe we're not the best solution. Um, but otherwise, then you can get a little more creative and say, OK, if you have a 2-inch line, chances are you got a big house. Uh, but I don't never need the full power of that 3 or 4 inches during the construction process cause, you know, that's for when the building is complete. We see them actually run bypasses off that line and keep that main line closed, and that way they just run everything through our lines, uh, that bypass, uh, during the construction. And then once that construction is done, they'll actually cut out our, uh, the, the bypass. They'll take our our devices within the next job and be good to go there. Now, we do see it a lot in commercial multi-family, but not on the main. For example, we are in several strip malls with this device. We're in a ton of multi-families, mid-rise, high rises, um, but we're going in each individual unit in those situations. And that way, you're never really tackling that main riser. You're just tackling, hey, I, I have a, I've got a, uh, a device monitoring the pizza shop. I've got a device monitoring the, you know, the salon. I've got a device monitoring the laundromat, you know, that type of thing. Or in a high rise, for example, I've got a device in each of the 252. If any water runs more than 15 seconds, and I'm also gonna turn the water off. Now, again, you can disable the auto shut off if you need to, uh, or you can change the 15 seconds to be higher if needed. Um, for example, 15 seconds, like I said, will let your, you know, ice maker do its thing. But let's say somebody's coming by while you're away to water the plants or feed the, you know, water, give the dog some water. They might, you might say, hey, I gotta give them a minute or 2 minutes. That's fine. Uh, you can set the parameters you want, and then you'll be alerted of what's going on while you're in away mode. Uh, we just installed the 252 unit, um, Like luxury condo golf community up in Wisconsin. There's one of these in every unit. And uh they're they're seasonal, right? People are usually not there, especially this time of year. And so uh we've got one each unit, they're all in a way mode. But if I installed this in a garage in Florida or outdoors in Texas, I probably want to go into my high temperature setting and disable it altogether, because otherwise I'm the customers just, if you left this and today you just have gonna be a cold day in Florida and you're good. But then the second the temperature went back up to 100 degrees in that garage or in that utility closet or that whatever crawl space, they're gonna be getting constant alerts. And so again, just to help you help yourself, if you install this in a place you know is going to be hot, go ahead in here and either raise or disable that high threshold altogether. Um, and so you shouldn't be getting many alerts on this, um, but again, if you go to a house and you see that their pressure is just barely dipping over 90, uh, and, and you're comfortable with it, obviously, once you get over 90, it's a little bit more concerning, and once you get over a certain PSI, you're actually voiding appliance warranties, things like that. Um, but again, if you're just dipping over 90 and you wanna change that, feel free. But otherwise, this is a good indicator that you probably need to do something with their PRV or install a PRV. Um, so again, fully customizable, uh, depending on what's going on. And if people ask sometimes, say, does it matter if somebody has public water or well, um, I'm on a well, and, uh, I've got no issues, you know, this is after my well tank, after my, uh, after my pressure valve, all that and good to go. I know that I got a ton of humidity alerts when I first installed this in my basement. Once I knew that that wasn't an actual leak, I just went in and ramped that humidity, high humidity threshold up to 70 or 80, um, just to make sure I didn't constantly get alerts. Um, so again, you just want to make sure that's a collaborative discussion. Um, but then again, from the, uh, when you're talking about temperature, humidity, those types of things that you just wanna make sure your settings says not alerting them with things that they don't need to be aware of. Again, high temperature, high humidity in Florida or in a basement, right? Um, so again, uh, typically these decisions are all made sort of in concert with them. And we have a paid version of the app, which is $6 a month or $60 a year. On the standard version of the app, you can have up to 2 locations, and then at those locations, you can have a control or a monitor, and up to 5 scouts, which are the sensors. Um, on the paid version of the app, you can have up to 5 locations, and you can have up to 10, uh, control and monitor and up to 10 sensors at each location. So, the real reason, the real differences between the standard and stream Plus, most people are on the free cause, you know, they don't have more than 2 locations, um, but if somebody has 3 locations that they want to have uh monitored, they can go to the paid version of the app. Other benefits on the standard version. You're gonna get push notifications of alerts. On the paid version, you can get push plus email plus text. Um, I don't really see the value in email if somebody waited for me to check my personal email, to know that I had a leak in my house, it might be 3 weeks before I see it. Um, but again, we do offer that. Uh, the other benefit of the, the paid version is people who really want to geek out on their water. Uh, they can see like their daily water consumption back, uh, I think up to 2 years. Um, but again, most people don't really need that. Uh, you can also see more alerts in your alert history. Um, so again, uh, on the, to add it, let's say you had a location where we had that control and we wanted to add a sensor. You know, it's pretty simple. We do have these sensors that can be used by themselves or in concert with the streamline control. Um, what these sensors do is they alert on water, temperature and humidity. Now, water is much simpler. It's not based on flow, it's based on am I wet or am I not, right? This is a point of leak sensor. The benefit here is the installation is a DIY or just easier for you if you're on site, cause you just set them, name them and forget them. If they detect water, which basically if any of these pins on the bottom detect water, um, they will both sound an audible alert alarm, and they will send a push notification via the app. Obviously, they'll also send text or email if you're on stream plus. Um, we also, like I said earlier, see these in non-plumbing situations. We have some people, whoops, we have some people put them. In AC condensate pans, uh, next to some pump pits. Uh, again, it's not a plumbing issue if that happens, but every time the power goes out or it rains, I'd rather not have to go down to my basement and flashlight and check it out. For temperature and humidity, if we were to do what the control does and kind of do it in real time, Um, we would burn the battery out very quickly. And so we don't, um, We don't, uh, you know, check in in real time like the control does every few seconds. Uh, the scout wakes itself up every 2 hours to check temperature, check check temperature and humidity. Um, if it says, hey, everything's OK, it goes back to sleep and everything's fine. If it wakes up and it sees concerning conditions, whether it be temperature or humidity, um, it will then notify you via the app and report in. Um, if for some reason it, it wakes up multiple times and it doesn't detect an issue, it'll update the data in the app every 12 hours. Um, but again, we're just trying not to, uh, burn out the battery quickly, so we just sort of struck the balance between, you know, if a room is above, uh, 40 degrees right now, how long does it usually take to get to a concerning, you know, uh, Level usually doesn't go from 40 to 20 in 10 minutes, right? So to use an example, we've got some, let's say a single family home like mine, uh, where I've got a control and I've got 3 scouts. I want to put a scout in my water heater, you know, uh, drip pan. I wanna put a scout next to my sump pump. I don't want to put one of them next to my condensate pan. Uh, in that situation, I can just use the standard version of the app, and here's what it looks like. I've got a control, and I've got a scout in the kitchen, I've got a scout in the basement, you can name them whatever you want, right? In a condo, again, let's say a condo usually needs more scouts if they don't have a control. So let's say I want to put 10 scouts in a condo, you might be saying, oh God, do I have to get the stream Plus because then I only then I, you can only have 5 scouts in each location. Yes and no. You can get creative here, right? In a condo, uh, a lot of people will just create two locations. They'll create. 1st floor or 2nd floor, they'll create, well, you know, east wing, West wing, they'll create bathrooms and other things, uh, and that way they can have two locations, which is on the free version of the app, and they could have 5 scouts in each, and that way they wouldn't need the paid version, right? Um, you know, you just click add a device, get started, pick your device, same process. That device has power, scan the code, join the Streamlabs, uh, Wi Fi. And then once you find the scout, enter your password for your um local network, name the device. These you can be really specific about naming, you know, you could say upstairs bathroom, because if they do get wet, they'll tell you exactly what that problem is, which is nice. Uh, and then, you know, again, you tell it you found a good install spot. And then once you're done, it gives you the option to look at the settings. Now, the settings here are much more streamlined. Water, temp and humidity. Water, it's just, am I wet or am I not? So do you want to notify me or not? If it's being used in conjunction with the control, you have the ability to say, hey, if it gets wet, do you want it to turn the water off. Some scouts, you want to turn the water off. If this isn't my water heater drip pan, yes, turn off that control. If it's my scout that's from my sump pump next to my sump pump pit, then no, I don't want that to shut off my water cause that's not a plumbing problem. You will not use this nearly as much, but I wanna make sure you're aware of it. Um, this is basically offers the same functionality as the control in that it, it, it measures flow ultrasonically. Uh, it could also give you ambient temperature and ambient humidity, but unlike the control, this just sits on a pipe as opposed to being plumbed in. Uh, so it can't give you pressure, it can't give you water temperature. And obviously it doesn't have a valve inside to close the water, uh, if there's a problem. It'll alert you to a problem, but then you still need to take action, uh, if you do want to shut the water off. So, uh, limited use case, but again, something we want you to be aware of. Uh, it installs on 3/4 and 1 inch lines, uh, gives you the same functions like I mentioned, still has smart alerts or manual alerts if you want it, uh, but it doesn't shut the water off, still gives you temp and humidity, but that's the other thing, still is home and away mode. Um, so again, The monitor itself uh is used, we see this a lot, um, going back to the sprinkler example, we, we say we don't usually like to monitor sprinkler lines cause they're, you know, irregular flow and duration. Um, some people say, hey, I, I'm gonna put a monitor on that outdoor irrigation line, because in the winter, I'm gonna put it into a way mode, and if, if any water runs, uh, I'm gonna know about it and before it becomes a big bill. Um, so we, we do see some use cases where a monitor does make sense. Um, you know, uh, some people use it to track gallons, uh, through their, um, they put it before their filtration or softener cause they know when they need to, you know, change out equipment or filters or things like that. Uh, we put a control on every unit, uh, and it was at the, at the direction of the property manager in HOA who said we just have too many seasonal units, we have too many issues going on. Uh, so they actually paid for the equipment. Uh, and we set them up, they don't want to go through, you know, all the different apps and scroll through an app to see hundreds of devices. Um, so we set them up with a dashboard like this where you can see all devices in one shot. Um, so again, uh, you can come in here and see, you know, what are my alerts situation, what devices are online, offline, which ones need attention, and you can see it all in one shot. So just a few screenshots on that. I can see my various locations. I can see my active alerts or my alert history. I can see my staff users and then they can also pick which users they want uh to be on this. They can, they can, you know, they, they can get both text and email alerts to those users, um. And then from a reporting standpoint, I can report on device statuses. I can report on water usage by by device. Um, so we do have a, a commercial or concierge dashboard for commercial multi-family opportunities if they're being driven by property managers or HOAs. There is a former RV park on the back side of the property that was completely taken over by trees and grass. The staff were helpful, however, they were unaware of the RV park. The travel center has its own sewer treatment plant that was not discussed during the original call to get the leak detection scheduled. It is on an unknown line, possibly a line running to the sewer treatment plant. We believe we have it located. However, the 100 plus semis drowned out all sound to confirm. The Secondary meter is for outside hose dibs. With a winterization tag on it. It is showing usage with no water being used at pumps with the valve off, the meter stops also. But as you can hear, the valve takes water and large amount of water is being used with valve off.
